The Alien Swinger

Here he is, my Alien swinger. First spotted in Area 51, no, I got the idea
for this feller watching TV one night, later on I sold the plans
to a woodcraft magazine, Popular Woodworking. I've made and sold
a few of them, they are fun and always get lots of comments. Mine
were made from 3/4" plywood, the legs were 1/4" ply,
painted with acrylic paint and clear enamel to weather proof it a
bit. The swing seat is 10" long by about 1 1/2" wide
and 3/8" thick. I use 3/16" cotton clothesline rope
from WalMart. I had to upload this on 2 sheets as it was just a
little wide for one sheet.

It isn't that hard to construct, involves no carving, only sanding. I use
a 4 inch X 36 inch sander and a dremel rotary tool. Also a drill press and a
bandsaw with a 1/8 inch blade, I'm sure a scrollsaw would work too.
